How we source, date, and refuse claims

Which sources we use first. Florida's Board of Dentistry, the state license lookup, and Chapter 466 of the Florida Statutes and its rules. American Dental Association consumer pages, and any published fee survey that can be retrieved with a date. Named peer-reviewed reviews, cited by paper, not by journal.

Which sources we use second, and label. Specialty-society consumer summaries, only when we can state what they do not cover. Federal and state health-agency education pages are labelled the same way.

What we do not use as evidence for a health claim. Practice blogs, "best of Miami" lists, before-and-after galleries, financing ads, Reddit, and YouTube influencer explainers.

Dates. Every citation names the page and the date we retrieved it. "ADA" on its own is not a citation.

Numbers. A number without a named source and a retrieval date does not appear on this site. When no public source gives a dated price range for Miami or South Florida, the page says so instead of guessing.

Where facts come from. Each fact is labelled Florida or National (or international research) by where its source applies. We say so when we found no Miami-Dade-specific source.

What we refuse to publish. A page is held back if it would call this site a practice, studio, clinic, or dentist; offer a consult, a new-patient special, financing, or a phone number as if this site provides care; show a before-and-after, a case, or "our work"; diagnose, recommend a procedure to a reader, or read like a treatment plan; state a dollar figure without a named source and retrieval date; list, rank, or feature a dentist; or ask for symptoms, photos of teeth, an insurance ID, a date of birth, or a government ID.

Advertising law. Florida's dentist-advertising law (section 466.019, Florida Statutes) is one reason we do not write ad copy for any dentist. We describe the rule; we do not apply it to any named dentist or practice, and nothing here is a legal opinion.

Every guide ends the same way. It sends you to a licensed dentist for a diagnosis. This site never makes one.

Corrections. Corrections are made when a source changes.
